Update for Office

If you have downloaded the update file, disconnect the pc from the internet while running the update. I have no idea why this works, but it appears that it does.

windows7 updates

my updates have failed since september. I have tried the solutions offered here but they have not worked for me. I was in touch with Microsoft for over a month but although they were friendly and helpful some of the exercises recommended to cure the problem got beyond me. I am aware how important some of these are but am completely stuck as to what to do next.

Just wait that it tells you that the installation has failed

then, when restarting Windows Update and, such an update shows up in the preview of updates to be downloaded, uncheck it. Right click on the text of such update will bring another pop-up menu, left click Hide update.

That way, it will never be offered to be downloaded for installation ever again.

Thank you so much, it worked. I went back into Windows Update and the critical updates were gone. Once again, thank you.
