Windows Update

Please anybody could tell me that when we download updates from Microsoft update website, where are the files stored before installing? Specifically i want to know if i download modem drivers from microsoft update website, where are they stored before installation?

Or rather, they're deleted after the install, and what you're downloading isn't usable on its own. It HAS to be used in conjunction with the Windows Update program, which to the best of my knowledge, has no means for that kind of use.

Useful tip for the future... If you search Google for the answer to a question like this, and can't find any sort of answer, it's likely because none exists.
