Question

Windows taskbar grouping

by Ketsujo / February 19, 2014 8:43 AM PST

Hello all!

On my pc I created a shortcut of drive F. Is there a way i can group everything related to F drive under the shortcut i created on the taskbar? Right now i open the drive from the shortcut and it groups under the windows explorer icon. Id like to have separate groups for my C drive and F drive.

Here is what is in my shortcut
C:\Windows\explorer.exe /n,/e, "F:\"

Any ideas?

1. I have that particular webpage book marked Happy was useful

2. Interesting

3. Right, grouping is on by default and i want to keep it on just change its behavior a bit.I want grouping enabled but instead of grouping all folders under one icon i would want it to try and group the folders based on what drive its from. Such as the C drive folders are grouped under one icon on the task bar and the F drive folders are grouped under a different icon on the taskbar,

But I have never seen the task bar offer what I would call granular control of grouping.

Look at Classic Shell. It is full open source so maybe someone would add such but my bet is something so user specific that it's unlikely. I'm not saying it's not possible but granular taskbar control is well, not asked for a lot.
