The cure is usually to try one last thing such as unplugging ALL USB devices for one last try.
If that fails, get your files safe with tips from the CNET STORAGE FORUM "Lost and Found" sticky post and then reload the machine.

I was using the computer and it froze. when I restarted these issues started. any ideas?when starting windows I get a message that says windows did not start sucessfully. If i start normally or last known good config as soon as windows starts loading the progress bar never starts moving. If I start in safe mode it lists several files and stops.
