Resolved Question

Windows Secure Kit 2011

Feb 26, 2012 11:29AM PST

I recently clicked on a site - don't remember for sure the name- and got a message 'windows secure kit' has found....on your computer and will do a quick scan of system files. I managed to shut the site and presumably the scan. Windows Security Essentials and Super Anti Spyware full scans find no threats. Has anybody any info about this worrying thing? Cheers, Ray

Thank you greatly KenHusveg for your prompt reply. I think I have noticed 'adbutler' and perhaps 'yieldmanager' at least and may perhaps have allowed them. Problem is when Windows Secure Kit comes up it is automatic I have set popups to always ask, but if it is in the system is there no way of preventing it in future? Sorry to be a nuisance but my advancing age seems to make me dimmer by the day. I followed your link but could see no solution. Cheers anyway, Ray

Windows Secure Kit 2011

Back again - sorry. I still get this fake av thing and can find no way of stopping it. I investigated the malvertising site and was simply confused. and the instances of WSK 2011 still appear. Am I the only person affected by this or is the fix just too easy? Sorry to be a nuisance but I would like some help if anyone knows. Otherwise I'll just say thanks again and go away. My computer still works except for this annoyance! Cheers, RayH
