windows scrolling is DRAGGING

by karelin2000 / September 2, 2004 3:25 AM PDT

I just got a used computer, and before I used it, reinstalled windows xp.

anyway, with ANY application I use, it lags behind, particularly when I scroll up or down in a program.

It's as if I'm dragging it, and it pauses for a couple of seconds, then finally does where I want it. this is very time consuming.

it's a dell latitude laptop with docking station. it does this without the docking station too.

the only thing I can think of, is when I reformatted it, I accidentally closed the laptop, which shut it down. it then resumed the xp installation.

do you think this did it? what is the cause and how do I fix? thanks

What's missing in your post is if you finished intalling XP drivers. Microsoft doesn't do this for us. Dell has most.

I have had this issue and it was a matter of installing the correct video driver.if you do not know the make/manf of the card try typing DXDIAG in the RUN box and click the DISPLAY should give you enough info to use GOOGLE and find a driver. If that does not work search GOOGLE for AIDA32, installing this utility will help to ID the card.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
