Windows repair tool

I continually get a pop-up from Windows repair tool. It is said to be a virus/malware I have tried all the remedies I could find, but it is still popping up. Any ideas how to get rid of it?

We use Grif's advice first.

I use what Grif notes first at http://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/how-to-remove-pup-option-603542/#post-f742c795-5881-433b-a29b-6d758efe5cd3 for automatic removals.

If it sticks around I have to dive in with reports like hijackthis and research. Most can't use that so they have to read up on the posting rules at bleepingcomputer.com, then post and wait.

Are you still running Windows 7 or XP ?

Thanks itsdigger, but I have not downloaded the WRT but i can't get rid of the pop-up advertising it. It is particularly disruptive.
