windows reinstall,,,, programs missing

Okay I reinstalled windows 7 hp and it made a dir named windows old. is there a slick way to get my programs like chrome and mssecurity and ASC to transfer and work with the new install rather than having to DL and reinstall them again?

I would download and reinstall the programs, it is the best way to get them work fast.

you will have to reinstall since most programs require registry entries, folders in different locations and other. The windows.old folder is only really good for files you forgot to backup and driver recovery if needed.
