The developer that I know has a non-EFI unit so his machine is rather "special."

-> This is no show stopper as the Linux crowd begins dissecting how to boot on this new system (EFI vs. classic PC BIOS) and Apple has done a great thing here to roll out the new EFI boot in front of everyone else.

Vista is reported to already support this boot method and since I have months befor the kid goes to college I'm in the catbird seat.
