Windows Media Player Problem

May 24, 2005 9:34AM PDT

I am running Win98SE, and have Windows Media Player 9 running on my system. All has run well for years, but something has happened that is not allowing me to play videos off the internet or videos that are sent through emails. I'm getting a message saying "Windows cannot play this file. Connect to the internet or insert the removable media on which the file is located, and then try to play the file again".

Sometimes an option for more info pops up saying that I'm having problem # 0xC00D1197.

There has to be some kind of setting fix for this problem as it just recently started. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Win Media Player 9, and it did not help.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Don

1. "Troubleshooting Windows Media Player 9 Series Error Messages." Find your error, and click it for tips.

2. The "Windows Media Player" (Click to see an example screenshot) program does not support the playback of every type of media file currently available but does provide support for the most common types [Q316992] and includes sample Skins, Codecs, and sound files. Please access the referenced link above and read the information provided -- and any of its supporting links to verify that media file used are supported and then troubleshoot for error messages that can occur.
