Question

Windows Media Player

The latest version of this doesn't have the time tracking for videos. I somehow got a Play Speed Setting menu to come up, but can't get it to do anything.

In earlier versions there was a counter right next to the Play button.

I was fiddlin' around with it the other day and somehow got a Play Speed Setting menu to come up, but can't get it to do anything.

I can't fit all we need into a short 3 paragraphs but variable speed playback is not always available because the decoder may or may not support this.

What decoder you ask? In Windows terminology we call that a CODEC. I'll stop here and move onto a good solution.

VLC Player has variable speed playback and maybe more.
