has iTunes moved around your files?

In reply to: windows media player

I'm taking a guess here. If you let iTunes put all of your music into an iTunes folder, then WMP may not be able to find the music which syncs to your other players because they are no longer where WMP thought they were. Hope you understood that-that was a long and twisty sentence. If you can get WMP on board where your music is kept on the computer, that might help.

Re: iTunes moved my wmp files

In reply to: itunes moved my wmp files-

1. Move them back.
2. Copy them to the location where wmp expects them. You've got 2 copies then, but who cares about that with such large hard disks as we have nowadays.
3. Tell wmp to look at the place where iTunes moved them to.

Your choice, I'd say.

you don't need to move them back

And have 2 copies. Delete everything in you WMP library. Don't worry, you're not deleting files. You're just deleting the old associations so that you don't have duplicates when you follow the instructions I'm about to give you.

In WMP click on the file menu, select "add to library," and an "add folder" box should pop up. Select the folder (probably the "iTunes Music" folder), then click "ok," which will then add the music in that folder to your WMP library with the new associations.
