windows media player

My WMP is running very slow. When I select a song it takes up to two minutes to load. I have scanned my computer with norton and spyware Dr and it is operating normally. I am a newbie to CPU's so any help would be greatly received.

First, it would be nice if you told us which version of WMP and Windows you are using. Next, what kind of "song" are you referring to? Songs saved to your computer? If so, what file type? Songs on the internet? Songs on a CD-Rom device?

Next, have you tried another player? Many don't like Windows Media Player because of similar issues... Tried RealPlayer? Tried WinAmp? Tried VLC? Media Player Classic?

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply

I am running WMP11, it isn't a particular song, it is all. They are saved onto my CPU after I have ripped them from a CD.
