Windows Media Player

I have Windows Media Player 10.0 installed and would like to go back to the 9.0 version. The problem? It won't let me. Everytime I try to install WMP 9.0, I get an error message that a newer version is already installed.

I don't have WMP 10.0 in the add/remove programs. When I didn't find it in the add/remove programs, I went through add/remove windows components. It removed WMP but I still couldn't install 9.0. I got the same error message that a newer version of WMP was already installed. I then downloaded 10.0, tried to reinstall and it wouldn't. So, I did system restore and WMP 10.0 is back and working. I've read about the problems with 10.0 and that is the reason for the rollback. Should I just live with WMP 10.0?

I have a Dell 8300, Pentium 4 2.6, 120 GB hard drive, 1.5 GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9800 and Soundblaster Live!

Thanks, it worked

Despite opening add/remove programs many times, I didn't notice the "show updates" check box. That's all it took to roll back to WMP 9.0.

I HATE Windows Media Player 10 and LOVED 9.0.
This info has helped me very much and I am using 9.0 again! 10 freezes too much and disables your plug ins if you manually shut down your comp...Bye 10!
