Windows Media Player 11 Sound not synching on larger files

by sprydle2 / April 8, 2007 4:34 PM PDT

Never had a problem (WMP 9 and WMP 10) before, but after installing Media Player 11, the sound no longer synchs on with larger files from our digital camera. The files are 640x480 30fps and we see synching problems with files as small as 70mb. The files are .avi and PCM sound compression. The larger the file the bigger the synch difference by the end. We defragged the hard drive and there's over 100gigs of free space left on the drive--plus like I said previous versions of WMP played exact same files without a problem. Any ideas?

VLCPLAYER can tell us if the issue is with WMP 11. While this narrows it down, the issue is something we may have to wait for MS to correct.

Thanks! Obviously WMP 11 is not for everyone...even those of us with Windows machines and using standard codecs!
