wmp considers almost any removable non-hard-drive-based disk drive to be a potential mp3 player (even digital cameras and flash drives).
unchecking the "create folder heirarchy" and "start sync" boxes was the right thing to do. the zip 'wakes up' because wmp checks all your connected drives. there's no way to change this behavior since many mp3 players expose themselves as disk drives.
I installed WMP 11 and am in the process of learning my way around.
My USB 750 Zip (F:\) is listed under Devices and WMP thinks it is an MP3 player (G:\ when connected). Whenever I activated WMP 11,
my zip drive powered up. I think I stopped this by going to Sync tab, Zip 750 Properties, and unchecking "create folder hierarchy on device". I am not sure if this was the thing to do or not.
Is there a way to remove the Zip 750 from the player's device list?
I have not plugged in my MP3 since the install.
I am not comfortable yet with this Player or Urge......
