It sounds like Autoplay has been disabled, which is the feature that either automatically launches a specific program or gives you a list of choices when a CD/DVD is inserted. Just open My Computer, right-click the drive in question, select "properties," click the "autoplay" tab, from the drop-down menu select "music CD" and/or "music files," then fill in the bubble next to "prompt me each time to choose an action." From then on whenever you insert a disk of that type, your will receive a dialog box of options, as you did before.

Hi Moderators,
I write with a pretty cimple problem.
When I put a cd into the drive the dialogue box which prompts you to either play music from the cd, play & rip music from the cd, use musicmatch or protect music on the cd now fails to come up. I have tried in vain to enable it but I can't find where to do so. I have done it before a long time ago but cannot remember what to do now.
Can you assist?
