Just so you know... Its not supported.

I can tell you that I have no qualms of deleting the C:\Windows directory, running FDISK /MBR and SYS C: from a Windows 98 boot disk, but most users will not be able to recover, install the OS and then all the drivers and programs.

The method is not documented.

"I did not understand your answer."

The answer is a little tough. Installing Windows 98 is not everyone's cup of tea.

"Can I just put 98 over me."

No.

"Where can I find instruction for doing this."

I've never seen such an instruction that worked for everyone. My method is my method and works, but then again, I may have installed Windows of all version some thousands of times. So I take it forgranted that drivers, identification of the hardware and more is not done by Microsoft.

I wish there was an easier answer.

farnand, I think you have to reformat your hard drive, then load the Windows 98 and then all of the drivers and hardware. It isn't that hard, just time consuming. I have done it once before and need to do it again. Besides its always nice to start out all fresh and new again! ps remember to save all your important files, pictures and music on disk or cd.
