Windows ME.....Question?

Anyone know what Firewall will work on ME, I'm not real familar with ME anyway (The PC belonged to my stepson) here is my story, and sticking to it.

To Begin, I got DSL last week and have two WXP Home SP2 PC's hooked up and running great.

I have an HP Pavilion With WME that has been setting over a year. Yesterday I used my shop vac and blew out the dust, actually was fairly clean.

Today I removed a lot of old programs that needed updated, and some that didn't need to be on it.
I removed Norton 2001 completely! Replaced with AVG Free.
Upgraded SpywareBlaster, AdAware SE, Spybot S&D. Installed CCleaner, Will do windows update tomorrow. I know there is no support for ME after July 11th but not going to put any money into the PC. The PC works really good. I just did a Disk Clean, and doing a Defrag now.

Zone Alarm won't support ME. What do you all use?

Could use any suggestions, as I hate to junk it. I also have all the User Info. as well as a set of 3 Restore CD's.

Sorry to be so long, but trying to furnish what info. that I can.

Thanks in Advance.
Larry

I must have missed that discussion, but would not have been looking for a discussion on ME. I'll see if I can locate it.

Was getting late last night so went to bed, figured I would do a search this morning. Don't remember that discussion, so I may have been gone. Anyway I do appreciate your help. Think I may try the older version of ZA. Getting ready to hook it up and play some more. Ad-Aware Found 353 items, CCleaner found a bunch. Haven't had time to scan with AVG or Spybot. I'll probably put a-squared on also. I'm using a router/hub supplied by my ISP.

Thanks a Million!

Suggest Free Sygate Version 2710

In reply to: Windows ME.....Question?

I have used the Free Sygate Firewall program and performs excellently = Not a Hungry program to have on a computer!

Sygate was purchased by Symantec and no longer supports or has available the Free Sygate program

I have and am using same on a "Windows ME" Desktop and Laptop computer
Go to Web Site;

http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=sygate

Please Note! Stick to version 5.5 2710, because the new 5.6. crashes everytime you start it.

Hope may help
