Windows mail problem

Aug 1, 2007 5:29AM PDT

I set up to have my email run through Windows Mail on my computer which uses Vista Home Premium. It is an IMAP account. Instead of my incoming mail going to the "Local Folders," it goes to the IMAP account I set up. How can I get the mail to go to the "Local Folder?"

IMAP email
Aug 2, 2007 5:57AM PDT

I have set up my IMAP email account, over the years, on Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird and Windows Mail, as far as I know since IMAP email uses a totally different set of rules to provide you email there is no way to have it go to local folders as you can chose to do with POP/POP3 email servers mainly because what is on the IMAP server online will be what is in your email program since it copies those folders.

I like IMAP email because I get all the same email on all my computers and know which I have read or replied to or can access it online but it does have it's limitations. In short altho you can set up pop/pop2 accounts to all dump into the local folders you can not with IMAP accounts.
