Windows Mail in Vista Home Premium

Jun 22, 2007 1:39AM PDT

When I got my new computer with Vista, I learned that it is no longer called Outlook Express but is called Windows Mail. I also learned that the switch identity feature was gone and I had to set up separate users for my wife and me. No problem.
When I bring up her Windows Contacts(address book) all if fine. When I bring mine up, the word "contact" is after each name. It doesn't create a problem but I am curious as to why it there for me and not her.

Any suggestions as to another forum I could go to for answer to my question?

Hi Auggie, I'm Not Sure What The Problem Is??
Jun 26, 2007 12:50AM PDT

Although it's clear there is the word "Contact" next to each contact name, is something broken? Does it not work correctly? And more importantly, although I'm not seeing the same problem here, can you delete the word "Contact" and make things right?

Hope this helps.

Works OK
Jun 26, 2007 6:35PM PDT

Everything works justs fine. The word contact is behind each name and refers to it being a contact "file". If I go into properties on a given name and erase the word contact after the name, I lose the email address of the individual in the addrerss book(windows Contacts).
I'm guessing that it has something to do with my loading the address book from a CD that I made on my old computer and also trasferred files from the old to the new computer using Intellimover.

Not Much Help Here.. But...
Jun 27, 2007 2:19AM PDT

...from the CD, did you copy the mail information (contacts, etc.) to the desktop first?.. Frequently, copying the data files to the computer, then eliminating the "read only" attributes will help with the process when the next mail program "Imports" the information.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies. It is not a problem, so I will just leave well enough alone.
