Windows Live Movie Maker Help

I want to use Windows Live Movie Maker to take a small part of an old (public domain) movie and capture about 5 minutes to put on You Tube. For some reason I am having problems doing this.

Assistance please. Thank you.

I put a (Public Domain) DVD in the drive on my computer and directed Windows Live Movie Maker to that location. It seemed to be working and accepting the DVD and placed the movie files on my computer. But would not play the DVD in this software. It is in a location file and titled: Video RM and Video TS. How can I get these files into Movie Make so I can just edit out one song that I like in the movie?
