Windows Live Messenger: Error 8000401a

Sep 15, 2009 1:53PM PDT

Today, I got a message when I tried to log onto my perfectly functional MSN that said I need to upgrade to WLM. I followed the instructions and did so, restarted my computer, etc.

When I attempt to sign in with WLM it gives me the following message:

WE CANT SIGN YOU IN TO WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER
Signing in to Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

Error Code: 8000401a

I've looked all over the internet and tried a lot of solutions. I've disabled every firewall and antivirus I have. I've tried looking for and deleting contacts folders, only to find they're not where the help told me they'd be.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could help me. Thanks in advance!

This key provided by arbind_raj ( 380689D0-AFAA-47E6-B80E-A33436FE3 ) worked for me whereas the key given by Windows help did not.
Thank you very much
