windows live messenger don't work

I cannot install windows live messenger newer edition but only older ones after the format I had at my PC.
I tried with installing service pack 2 and service pack 3
Please could someone help me?
I really want to install the new msn

In this case, please tell us what OS you're running, which WLM editions you have successfully/unsuccessfully installed, the exact error message(s) displayed, and any other relevant details.
