What version of Windows & WLM?
Aug 25, 2013 11:54AM PDT

I'm using WLM Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205) with Windows 7. Not knowing what you have, I wonder if you might need to get a more current version. A lot of folks here in these forums like Thunderbird for email rather than WLM, but I have to say I haven't had any problems with it lately. WLM has earned a reputation of being a bit flakey at times because MS in its wisdom updates it without asking or notifying you, and some of those updates in the past have been less than 100% error free. Sad I haven't had to do it within the last year, but sometimes you have to uninstall it and download a fresh copy when you can't get it to work right.

Good luck.

I am very inexperienced in these matters.I'm nervous to uninstal then install a fresh copy as I don't have an installation disk.

As there has been no such thing so far, odd you wrote this. Is there more to this story?

And can't see where there is any disc for WLM today. There are some PCs that came with WLM pre-loaded but since it's up for download they may feel there is no need for a WLM disc.

Here's how to do it
Aug 27, 2013 1:33AM PDT

To download WLM, just go here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/essentials
Before uninstalling what you have, export your contacts and current email to a new empty folder so you can import them after reinstalling. You use the appropriate applet in the Control Panel to uninstall. I can't be more explicit because you haven't bothered to tell us what version of Windows you're using.
If you aren't comfortable doing it yourself, I'm sure the local repair technicians would be happy to accommodate you for a "nominal fee". If you know someone who's good with computers, you could save yourself having to pay the "nominal fee".

Good luck.

Too Touchy
Oct 9, 2013 4:06PM PDT

I liked WLM originally when I bought my Samsung Series 9 laptop w/Windows 7 a few months ago. Since then I've had issues and after this last time decided to make gmail my primary email address. I had another primary email for years and never had to uninstall/reinstall it. WLM isn't worth the hassle; decided to make gmail my primary, since I've already used it for years as an alternate email.
