Windows Live Mail & Outlook Mail

Dec 16, 2013 5:36AM PST

I often get emails that I want to receive (they're totally legitimate) that have addresses like this:

rusa=ala.org@mail8.atl31.mcdlv.net

rusa=ala.org@mail181.atl61.mcsv.net

They come from the same person or org. The sender line looks like this:

Susan H-------, RUSA/ASCLA <rusa=ala.org@mail8.atl31.mcdlv.net>; on behalf of; Susan H------, RUSA/ASCLA executive director <rusa@ala.org>

The images in them won't display unless I click on that pesky "Display images" thing at the top. Have to do it for each msg like this.

Seeing as how they're using some sort of robo-email program (whatever you call it) to send these mass msgs out, how can I add them to my Safe Sender's list?

I want to avoid changing the WLM settings for images in emails b/c there's a lot of mail I get that I don't want to see the images in.
</rusa@ala.org></rusa=ala.org@mail8.atl31.mcdlv.net>

Thanks! But...

Sorry, that didn't work. Problem is with the rusa=ala.org@mail8.atl31.mcdlv.net address, not the "on behalf" address. If I add the on behalf address, it still doesn't work b/c the other address I ment'd is a robo-generator or something (terminology like this ain't my strong suit). It's different every time & WLM & Outlook won't recognize it as friendly.

If it's different every time (I didn't get that from your first post, sorry) you can't add it to the white list. So I'm afraid you're stuck with your current routine.

But you might feel like writing a Thunderbird add-on that supports wild-cards in the whitelist?

Thanks again!

So they call them wildcards? Thanks for the terminology. Has to be a way to beat these things! If I find it, I'll post it here.
