Question

Windows Live Mail loses emails in inbox

Oct 12, 2013 1:50AM PDT

I use Windows Live Mail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205) on my notebook, which has Windows 8.
Quite often it loses read email, and I can't find them in any folder. I do NOT have Hotmail, and never have used Windows Messenger. I have tried deleting and reinstalling Windows Live Mail but the same thing happens with new install.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Do I need to delete Windows Live Mail and install different email program? IF so,which windows email program should I use? I have 3 different email accounts that I use.
thanks for your help!

A nice trick with some e-mail programs (sorry, I don't know WLM) is the option to only show unread messages in the inbox and hide read messages. That's just a setting. So if WLM has this setting also, just check.

Most people disappointed in WLM turn to Mozilla Thunderbird. Then they recognise good old Outlook Express (that came with Windows XP) and don't regret their choice.

My Windows Live Mail shows both read and unread mail.

(NT) Then it's time to try Thunderbird.
