Question

Windows Live Mail Import

Oct 7, 2013 11:45AM PDT

I am trying to import my outlook express 6 dbx files into Windows live mail using windows 7. I open live mail and go to import under file and browse to find my files. When searching for *.dbx files using windows explorer the path i found was c:\users\Frank\AppData\Roaming\MSN6.old\UserData When I place that in the browse textbox and hit next a message tells me it can not find files needed for import. there are several dbx files in the UserData directory. I have also tried to find msimn.exe and it is no longer on my computer. Any assistance would be appreciated thank you.

If you export from OE to CSV format, WLM will import them with no problem. It's always worked for me.

The problem is I can not find msimn.exe so I can not open oe to follow your suggestion. Thank you. Is there a way to be able to import my dbx files into windows live mail besides the way I described above. Thank you.

Install Thunderbird and get them into Tbird. Now export them to what Live understands.
