Resolved Question

Windows Live Mail - Error message when clicking email links.

Feb 11, 2013 9:29PM PST

The message below appears to be a common complaint. In my case, it appears on clicking highlighted and underlined links received in Windows Live Mail, I am running Explorer 8 and Wndows 7 Ultimate.

The displayed message on clicking the highlighted links reads:-

"This File does not have a programme associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the defaults program control panel"

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Regards

So far, the odd numbered ones seem to be the hits.

Windows 3.x took off.
Windows 2000 (that would be 4) was a bit much for folk to get into.
XP (could be called 5) seemed to nail what folk wanted.
Vista (6) was a bit unloved.
7 (7) pulled it all together again.

8 is being force fed to the consumers. Not going too smoothly.

9 looks to be fine.

10 may be like zen. Few will comprehend it.

11 will be heaven according to some.
