Windows Live Mail

Does Windows Live Mail make automatic backups? If so where are they stored?

Where does Windows Live Mail store contacts and the contents of your folders?

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate with an AMD II 4CPUs processor.

I have only WINXP SP3 IE8, and Windows Live Email

Your Contct list can be imported into a CVS file in My Documents; I have also printed out all my contacts wirj all info. At the right hand corner is an icon that says Menu, and they can be exported from that - make sure you select ALL contacts and not the one that is highlighted. It will print out only one if this not done. Darrell

Winow Live Mail

Thanks for your help DChrisL.

There may be differences in the subject application for Win XP and Win 7. I was not able to find the icon for menus in my Live Mail program, but a menu bar is in view in my program and I found the "export" function under "File".

Using that wizard, I discovered that the Windows Live Mail program, at least in Win 7, stores everything (folders and their contents, contacts, etc.) in C:/Users/(your name)/Live Mail Backup.

I have pointed my backup program to this folder, and I can now recover my email info from my backup drive.

Again, thank you DChriL for your help in finding the answer to my question.
