Things I wonder:

1. If the emails are gone or just the link to it in the email program. Did you have a look at the folder on your hard disk where they are stored? Google WINDOWS LIVE MAIL FILE LOCATION if you forgot where they should be. Then maybe you can redo the settting.

2. If you don't have a backup of your mails. If not, why not? We tend to interpret "I don't have a backup" as "I don't mind losing my mails". So why care?

3. If system restore will help to undo the damage of this (unknown) cleaning program.

4. If the program doesn't have an undo-function (some well-behaved cleaning programs do). If so, use that.

5. Why, o why, you buy and run such a program.

6. If you read the negative review at http://download.cnet.com/SpeedMaxPc/3000-2094_4-75439925.html

7. If reinstalling WLM would indeed restore the pointer in the registry pointing to your mails, as suggested (in othe words) by DChrisL. It's worth a try.
