Do people have some sort of urge to see who can get the most posts on a particular subject.
This one is always good for 60 - 70 posts and has been beaten to death at least three times in the last month..

At any given time there must be thousands of people in the USA, not to mention beyond, that are sincerely wondering if it would be best for them to purchase an Apple Computer or a Microsoft based system.

A new computer takes too much time and effort to set up and customize to then have a sinking feeling that you should have gotten a different one.

for the record, my book? If I only had one computer it would be a Mac. If you have to have Windows, by a used machine and run WIN2000Pro or XP Pro, but just network with the Mac and only use it when you need it...

FYI: This author has variations of this post in the Windows, Mac and Linux forums. Seems like a sincere effort to me.

If I wanted an unbiased opinion about a Mercedes Benz car, I would not go to a Mercedes Benz Dealer. If I wanted an unbiased opinion about a Ford car, I would not go to a Ford Dealer. If I wanted an unbiased opinion about the Mac OS, I would not ask a Mac forum. Ditto for Linux and Windows. These people are already using the OS that they think is the best, why else would they be using it (unless forced), so their opinion is biased. There would be no way that you could decide which Operating Sytems was the best, based on the replies, unless you decided to go with the largest number of replies. If you look back through the forum, you will see this same question over and over again. FlameBait is a good name for it. JMOHO FWIW
