Question

Windows laptop screen backlight works, but no image

Oct 5, 2018 9:52AM PDT

Hi all
I've got a problem with my Acer Aspire F17 F5-771G.
20 minutes ago was working fine. Then I put it into sleep mode, packed it in my sleeve, in my backpack and carried it a bit and opened it up again
The screen was black, not responding, I thought it was an issue with hard drive, but after plugging to external display by hdmi, turns out that its just the laptop screen that doesn't work.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Did you try?

Some laptops use a function F-Key combo to switch from internal to external displays. Try that.

Sometimes my old soft reset works. In short, power down, remove big battery then press and hold the power button for 60 seconds. Release, insert battery, apply power and test.

Don't transport laptops in sleep mode. Just asking for trouble.
