Can get busy or non-responsive if it's building icons for a view. This issue has been with us since about Windows 2.0 or over 2 decades ago.
So you should be able to end task it but think about where you have WFE exploring. That drive could have many video files and WFE is out there trying to make icons.
Workarounds. Don't use a view that uses icons.
Use other file browsers.
Wait.
Be sure the drive health is perfect. I like to use Speccy to check drive issues.
You can share a report as noted at https://www.piriform.com/docs/speccy/using-speccy/publishing-a-speccy-profile-to-the-web
If you never ran CHKDSK on that drive, it may be time. Read how: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/guide-to-using-check-disk-in-windows-vista/ (applies to most versions of Windows.)
And it's driving me crazy.
Either behind another window or by itself. I switched to the desktop and it still wouldn't pop back up
Any ideas please?
