windows installer

When I click on the internet I get a pop up that says
windows installer is installing windvd,it then says
it has to be installed by cd. I cannot delete this and when
I click on cancel it comes back. I have done a restore
but it keeps comming back. I have deleted every thing
I can find with windvd and intervideo I don't want to
recover xp as I will lose to much. can some one help?

Here's the tool I use.

Type Windows Installer Cleanup Utility into

That's what I use to remove the pending install of such items. Yes, the writeup looks scary but it's what I use to cure things like that.

Wow it is scary. But I did install it and scrolled down
till I found one that said win dvd, I just cleared that
one, and so far it is working fine.
I sure thank you, what a great forum.
One question, why would anyone want to clear all the installers

But it's a power tool for such issues like this. So if you ever have a machine you can sacrifice in the name of science, feel free to lop them all off and see what happens?

Sorry but I'm more into precision surgery for such things.
