You were upgrading the OS to Win 10 . Correct ?
If so, you shouldn't be restarting the comp. Win 10 needs time to install and will restart on it's own several times and that takes some folks quite awhile.
Have you just let it run and do it's thing ?
1. The file system isn't clean. I have to run CHKDSK /F /R /X on each drive letter to completion.
2. Not enough free disk space.
3. Some incompatible app that Microsoft didn't spot. I usually uninstall the antivirus suite and any CD/DVD emulation apps. There may be others to remove but these are the common ones I run into.
4. Lastly I run into cracked Windows. The owner had installed some pirate or crack and what a mess that is.
