Question

Windows Fax and Scan

Feb 29, 2016 1:27PM PST

I have an issue with Windows Fax and Scan, and I cannot figure this out.

On my work computer (Lenovo T420) Windows Fax and Scan works fine and with no issues.

However, on my personal computer(Acer Aspire V3-551), I cannot scan in Black and White. My only option is Color or Greyscale. A lot of times when I am trying to scan a B&W document, the best I can get is a washed out scan. Needless to say, some scans just need to be in B&W

My printer/scanner is a Cannon MP495. Both computers use the same printer.

I have tried uninstall, reinstall, remove and reload drivers, etc.

What might the problem be here?

Windows Fax and Scan - No B&W

Did that. Didn't help. The fact that it is now addressed, I don't think is relevant, since it works with one computer and not the other. I find it odd that I didn't see anyone with the same issue.

Usually, somebody is having the same issue as you, if you look.

While it's a fact

It's also missing in the product manual so you don't have a leg to stand on. Try scanning per the manual is all I can suggest.
