If you mean IE, it's just very buggy, especially here.

I was using IE11 under Windows 7 64 bit with these forums, and found it to be extremely buggy. Funny, it worked pretty well before the forum changes, but after the change, it became an exercise in masochism. Funny thing is that Firefox & Chrome work just fine here, so I've switched from IE to Firefox; and have been living happily ever after. Happy

this is Windows Explorer, like when you hit the start button and type in a search for a file or folder. Not IE

It works just fine for me on both my laptop and main desktop, both of which run Windows 7. I suggest you run sfc /scannow from an administrative command prompt. You might also look at the system event error log.

Good luck.

HA ! I got it !

It wasn't the updates causing the trouble.
It was a program to record my desktop I was playing with called TinyTake.

It was a PITA and got rid of it but some lingering files stayed behind. They're gone now and all is back to normal.

Thanks anyway

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
