After too many failures like this, I stopped using any MSFT backup or restore software. It's a shame since if you had simply copied your files out, they would be there in a non-proprietary form.
When I start my Dell laptop a box states "Windows detected a hard disk problem. Back up your files immediately..." After 20 hours of the Windows Easy Transfer, it stated it was complete and all files have been saved to disk drive. Unfortunately, when transferred to another computer "Windows Easy Transfer couldn't open the file" appears. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks!
