I'm going to be brutally honest here. BEWARE. I'm seeing this error a lot now that more folk download content.
That's not the problem, the problem is that the downloader doesn't know much about video "encoding." This area is all about CODECs, and if the CODEC is not only installed but is bug free.
Your post only gave the usual crash report I see when the CODEC is not installed or has a bug. To really dissect this you usually have to look at the file that crashed the tools and then figure out if it's a bum codec or something else.

I can no longer burn videos to a DVD to watch on my TV in either Windows DVD Maker or Windows Media Center.
