Windows doesnt start Up Properly.

by Chris1056 / November 22, 2009 10:36 AM PST

My HP Laptop is about 4 years old, but still works great... until a few days ago.

When i start it up, the loading screen comes up and finishes. Then it goes black, and stays black.

I CAN however boot in safe mode (not safe mode with networking tough), and it works fine.

Any suggestions on how to fix?

(I am also having problems finding my CD, but have the License Code. So a No-CD Answer would be wonderful)

I was having a similiar problem with my dell vostro laptop. First I would suggest taking out the battery pack and just plugging it into the wall. If that doesn't work, at the blank screen press f2 on the the keyboard in order to get to the start-up menu. From there you use the arrow keys and enter button go through the choice of tabs and one of the tabs enables you to boot the screen.

Hopes this helps.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
