windows display changes by itself

What would cause the display theme of a built computer (Intel Core 2CPU, 2.13 GHz, 3.25 GB Ram, running Windows XP Professional Edition) in our office to change it's color scheme? It happened to one secretary while she was working in a database, the pc actually restarted with different colors. When the other secretary went to use the pc the next day it was fine. Then it also happened to her, she logged off while she was out of the office, and when she came back in and logged on, her display colors in Windows were different. I had her restart, and it went back to normal.
Any thoughts? We are also having wierd power issues with this computer that we had a new, better, power supply put in, we also had a shielded circuit (separate outlet) put in for this pc, and had a Powerx box put in the building to sheild against noise on our lines.
Any help would be appreciated.
