Running Win98SE, IE6
I'm trying to use Windows' "Disk Cleanup" tool to full advantage. The "Disk Cleanup for (C)" box shows the following items in "Files to delete":
Temporary Internet Files
Downloaded Program Files
Offline Web Pages
Upon checking these locations via both Windows Explorer and the "View Files" button in Disk Cleanup, I find that the only item truly cleaned (emptied) is the Recycle Bin. Although the view button was not active for "Temporary files" (which remain undefined), I noted that the Windows Temp folder was not cleaned. Am I missing something here, or is the Disk Cleanup tool a joke? I had actually wanted to add more items to "Files to delete" in Disk Cleanup. Also, why is the "Content.IE5" folder displayed via the view button but not displayed via Windows Explorer in "C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files"? Please enlighten me. Thank you
