Question

Windows did update & Windows Live 2011 replace my Live 2009

May 3, 2015 8:11AM PDT

About 2 days ago Windows update ran and installed Windows Live 2011 Essentials, and now my Windows Live 2009 (e-mail) is replaced/gone!!

I want it back!

I think I am to uninstall the Windows Live Essentials 2011 but I don't want to lose all my folders, e-mails, contacts, etc...

Please help me get rid of the update and get back to my Windows Live 2009 mail and everything else.

Thx

How about system restore...

to before the update. If you have Norton or similar you'll need to disable to do a restore.

Answer
We only lose what we don't backup.

As we all know how treacherous a PC can be, are you writing you don't backup your stuff?

Here's an article about backup of WLM 2009.

Frankly my run-ins with WLM have been so bad that I don't suggest using it. I suggest that folk that need a free email client switch to Thunderbird. Because it's a PC, you still backup what you can't lose.
