I have been using Windows 7 on my HP desktop for years, but suddenly I got a black screen at startup today (September 24, 2017) with the message "Updating Personalized Settings: Windows Desktop Update." This is the first time ever that I have received this message and it took 4-5 minutes before my desktop appeared. I have all the current Microsoft Updates, including the most recent one for September. What is this and how can I get rid of it? I'm afraid it is going to prevent my system from starting. Thanks for your help.
