Windows Defender/System Restore

by eddie11013 / April 20, 2006 11:59 PM PDT

This may be a silly question ''but'', is a restore point a restore point? Ha Ha. What I mean is that I had not looked at my system restore 'area' in some time. There used to be a listing like 'system checkpoint'. Now, since I have windows defender, all I see is ''windows defender checkpoint'', some times multiple times in one day and on occasion a 'software distribution service 2.0'. Just want to make sure I don't have some sort of problem in case I have to use system restore. I know I can create my own restore point, but I never thought it was necessary.
Thanks in advance,
Eddie

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
