Windows Defender is NOT an Anti-Virus ...

it is anti-malware and as a matter of interest was originally known as Microsoft AntiSpyware.

Since the two are doing two different jobs I will tell you from experience that you won't be having conflicts.

It's not a good idea to have two anti products running real time that play in the same area.

Will win def and avast fight?........no idea.

I have both products and I set win def to on-demand.....seems to work.
