...and that's why many here suggest to do get the Windows Updates manually..Just an example,,as system admin for our 30 or so agency computers, I am responsible for making sure the updates get done each month...Although all of the machines have "autoupdates" enabled now (IT department required it), there are still a handful of the computers which I must do manually.
Still, you didn't mention the most important part...Was the computer connnected to the internet during the time the updates were supposed to be downloading?
Hope this helps.
Just wondering. I usually download the latest updates, manually, as soon as I can when I find out about them on this forum. Even though I have my computer set up for automatic download and install. Well, I know everyone says here that you should ''not'' have auto updates on, but anyway, I do. So just for a change I was going to let the 'auto' do its thing, and it didn't. Any ideas why? I have it set for 10AM everyday. I even saw the ''wuauclt.exe'' on the Task Manager once. My computer is usually ''on'' from about 8AM till maybe 6PM daily. Windows XP Pro SP2, Dell Dimension 2350, 1.99 GHz, 1Gig Ram. AVG7,MASB,AdAware SE,Spybot,Spyware Blaster. System is clean. And 'yes', I did go to their web site and confirm that I do have updates that need to be installed.
thanks in advance
