Two things to try:
1. Don't login as administrator, but use "run as administrator" to run File Explorer or command. That's not the same: run-as-administrator gives you more permissions than just logging in as administrator.
2. Make a Linux disc or stick to boot from and delete it in the Linux file manager. One of the nice (albeit dangerous) things of Linux is that it doesn't look at Windows permissions.
The chance of success of #1 is greater than 0, but not 1. The chance of success of #2 is 1, in my experience.
Hello, I had the xbox game pass app, I am no longer using it and there is a sub folder within the WindowsApps folder from the game Metro:Exodus taking up 60 gb on my PC. At first, I could not delete the WindowsApps folder due to permission issues, but I made the necessary changes and was able to get rid of all but two sub folders. I am the only user on this computer, anytime I try to delete the folder D:\WindowsApps\DeepSilver.ProjectWindfall_1.0.19.0_x64__hmv7qcest37me
I am told I require permission from myself. I am unable to edit anything within the security settings. Cannot edit groups or usernames, cannot do anything within the advanced tab either. This is just bizarre to me, I was able to do this with the folder it resides in. The folder in question says I have full ownership over it. I've tried deleting it with firewall and windows security off, as well. Any help is appreciated
