Question

Windows always resets to classic, after a new theme+reload

Nov 4, 2012 12:08AM PDT

First of all, sorry for my bad english.

I'm here, cuz i can't find the answer anywhere.
Today, i figured out, that the normal xp theme is boring, so i started looking for new themes, i installed the uxtheme.dll patcher as people said, then i downloaded a nice theme what I liked, so, it's all right, but when i turn my machine off and on, i always see the ugly windows classic theme again, with some of my theme's colours in it. After that, i can simply get my theme back, by clicking on it's msstyle file, but after the next logon, it's the classic again. Please, help me with this, I don't wanna live with my old xp style : /

Why not ask the people that told you to install the uxtheme.dll or the poeple that made the style you downloaded?

As I read it, all you have to do to revert to your favorite style is one click after reboot (or after logon, that's not clear from what you write). So if you use hibernate and only reboot once a week, it's one click a week.
Maybe you can live with that?

are you using some auto-login method? If so, switch manual and/or try allowing some additional time after the login screen appears. I had something similar happen when I had XP and used tweakui to automate the login process. I had to go back to doing this manually and allowing plenty of time for background processes to complete.

It works well now with Style Xp, thanks for your answers.
